Welcome to the Association of University Professors of Ophthalmology Fellowship
Compliance Committee (AUPO FCC) Website. The AUPO FCC, a Limited Liability
Corporation, is a non-profit professional medical organization committed
to the establishment of ophthalmology training standards in fellowship programs.
The AUPO FCC offers a compliance system focused on uniform educational standards,
protection of the public, protection of institutions, protection of trainees,
accountability and enforcement. The compliance process is voluntary and
financed by participating fellowship programs, subspecialty societies and
the AUPO. All subspecialties in ophthalmology are encouraged to participate
in the AUPO FCC.
This website is designed to provide information on the compliance standards
of training for post-residency fellowship programs, provide online registration
for new programs and programs scheduled for periodic review, and provide
an online evaluation of programs from graduating fellows.
The FCC was established in 2005. Pediatric Ophthalmology and Cornea, External
Disease and Refractive Surgery were the first subspecialties to participate
in the AUPO FCC system. Glaucoma and Neuro-Ophthalmology will partcipate
for the first time in 2006.
Program guidelines, and the ON-LINE APPLICATION for fellowship programs,
are posted on the FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMS page. You can access that page by
